What is the difference between MY DJ and the competition?
With a combined experience of over fifty years, the MY DJ team has provided quality entertainment to thousands of events. We take pride in pleasing our customers every step of the way, from customer service to interacting with guest on event day. Our team of Elegant, Professional and Fun DJ’s are trained to handle any type of occasion with a positive attitude and the right touch.
How much do you charge?
The biggest mistake most people make is that this is the ONLY question they ask! We believe that the DJ is one of the most important factors in the success of your event. Price should be your last consideration in looking for a great DJ. Find out how good the DJ is, then consider the price. And don’t be fooled – you do "get what you pay for!"
We are not the least expensive but we are considered one of the best DJ companies in New York. There are some DJs with whom we simply can’t compete in terms of price. This is because of our standards. We are not weekend warriors looking to make a couple of extra dollars for the weekend. We operate a fulltime office and employ fulltime employees. We believe that the entertainment will decide the success of your event. Because of this we don’t cut corners!!!
What type of equipment do you use?
MY DJ uses the industry’s most up-to-date professional DJ equipment by the top manufacturers. In fact, much of the equipment we use is the same stuff you would find in the world’s finest nightclubs and on-tour with the biggest touring sound companies. All of our equipment is housed in professional road cases for neatness & protection. We are willing to provide a equipment list so you can verify the equipment we are using is professional-grade sound gear.
How much time do you allow for set-up?
Punctuality is a necessity. Our Disc Jockey's arrive at least one hour prior to the start time you've given them. Your entertainer will be setup and in-place before your first guest walks through the door.
What type of attire will you wear?
A tuxedo is worn for all formal events. For informal events, attire will be event appropriate.
Will you just play music at my event, or will you interact with the crowd?
MYDJ will begin by sitting down with you to discuss all of the details and concerns you may have. The amount of interaction is entirely up to you. All of our DJs are fully capable of infusing your event with energy and enthusiasm, whether or not they get “hands on” with your guests. You decide how much or how little you would like your DJ to interact.
What selection of music do you have?
At MY DJ we realize that the selection of music a DJ has is a very important. Our library consists of thousands of songs, many of which you can browse here on our website. MY DJ customers receive a login to browse our library and create virtual request lists. If you do not find a song in our library, we will gladly get it.
Are you insured?
MY DJ is FULLY insured.
Will we meet our before our event?
Yes, we meet in advance to discuss the itinerary of the event. We get every detail from special introductions to meal times.
